Champion Hoka-Hey’s

Golden Goal

(3 ½ months)

Sheva was as nice a puppy as we have ever bred, and as much as we looked forward to having Scout puppies, both Sheva and her sister JonTerry have surpassed all expectations. Sheva excels in type, soundness, structure and movement. She has a loving, inquisitive and very mischievous personality – with ATTITUDE - a brilliant red-orange coat, dark eyes, and lovely angles. Her topline is hard and level, and her shoulders will remind you what shoulders are supposed to feel like. And her face… what a face. She has her daddy Scout’s PERFECT AKITA EARS! We couldn’t ask for anything more. We’ve often speculated how we would feel if we saw someone else with a girl like Sheva – and how hard we’d try to get her! She reminds us so much of some of the old Sachmo girls, which is all we’ve ever wanted. Sheva and her sister were three quarters good pedigree and one quarter good luck; a litter as successful as this doesn’t come along very often, no matter how superior the bloodlines. It’s heartwarming that our years of developing workable pedigrees and successful dogs both in the show ring and in the living room, have led to puppies of this undeniable quality. Both girls have developed so beautifully that we feel we’ve achieved what we set out to do as breeders many years ago. Sheva is 7th generation Hoka-Hey breeding!

Sheva went to her first show at just under a year old; an all breed match, and just for practice, but with Barb Davis at the end of the lead, Sheva showed her heart out and had a wonderful time. She also left with a Group 11 from a very well attended Working Group! Sheva’s happy face and dancing legs continued to work for her and she soon singled out, arriving at the Northwest’s only Akita Specialty in 2008 to win a 4-point major, handled by pal Ingrid Linerud. Lamps, Sheva’s ‘intended’, won WD/BOW the same day.

Sheva has definitely made an impression, and has a growing Northwest fan club!  That now includes one of the all time great Akita judges, Mrs. Christina Hubbell, who we thank for Sheva’s second major, a BOW bitch major, which finished her championship. Another well deserved champion for daddy “Scout”!
