Hoka-Hey’s Golden Goal

(3 ½ months)

Sheva was from her daddy Scout’s first breeding, and from mama Shawnee’s only breeding, and as nice a puppy as we have ever bred.  As much as we looked forward to having Scout puppies, Sheva surpassed all our expectations. She excels in type, soundness, structure and health. She has a loving, inquisitive and very mischievous personality – with ATTITUDE!  She carries a brilliant red-orange coat, dark eyes, and lovely angles. Her topline is hard and level, and her shoulders are a reminder of what shoulders are supposed to feel like. And her face… she has her daddy’s stunning type and PERFECT EARS! We couldn’t ask for anything more. We’ve often speculated how we would feel if we saw someone else with a girl like Sheva – and how hard we’d try to get her! She reminds us so much of some of the old Sachmo girls, which is all we’ve ever wanted. Sheva was three quarters good pedigree and one quarter good luck, and it’s heartwarming that our years of developing workable pedigrees and successful dogs both in the show ring and in the living room, have led to puppies of this undeniable quality. Sheva has developed so beautifully that we feel we’ve again achieved what we set out to do as breeders many years ago. She is our 7th generation of Hoka-Hey breeding.

                   SHOW TIME!

Sheva’s first entrance to a show ring was at an all breed match, where she won a Group 2 from a very well attended Working Group. Her happy face and dancing legs continued to work for her and she soon singled out, arriving at the Northwest’s only Akita Specialty to win a 4-point major, handled by pal Ingrid Linerud. (Lamps, Sheva’s ‘intended’, won WD/BOW the same day.)  Sheva definitely made an impression, and has a growing Northwest fan club that includes one of the all time great Akita judges, Mrs. Christina Hubbell, who we thank for Sheva’s second major, a BOW bitch major, which finished her championship. Another well deserved champion for daddy “Scout”!

Sheva was bred in January 2011, using frozen semen from our king of dogs, Ochoco. Our most anticipated litter ever will be born the third week of March. The litter is completely reserved.
