Absolute Sunglasses After Dark

at Hoka-Hey

We are so proud to introduce our beautiful “Ivy” - bred by, and co-owned with, forever-friend Brenda Van Camp, along with Mark Lechowski and Tracy Wozniak.  Ivy is the daughter of Brenda’s gorgeous group placing bitch, Kimora (Ch.Kwiat Absolute Triple Threat [CHIC]), who was bred to Ch.Kingdomhouse Absolute Darq Duck (Zuma), who just happens to be our Lamps’ nephew! This makes Ivy a great-granddaughter of Bella, coming to us all the way from New York!

Like her mom Kimora, Ivy is a hooded bitch, which you can see is quite striking! A great thing about the Akita breed standard is the acceptance of any color and markings, as long as the colors are brilliant and clear and the markings well balanced.  Ivy has to be a classic representative of both, with her dark brindle head markings, evenly split mask, and brilliant white body.  No distracting ticking or freckling; just pure bright white!  We’ve had an attraction to this pattern for quite a while and it was only a matter of coming across these markings on the perfect puppy! Brenda took care of that for us, and we knew Ivy was special from her very first pictures.  As she grew and developed, we could plainly see her stunningly typey head with little black eyes, beautiful short back, solid stature and perfect front and rear. She has a lovely high set, long tail, wonderful angulation, and incredible pigment. Her coat is thick and lush and dazzling to the eye.  You might just find you need sunglasses to look at her!  Ivy’s personality is just as captivating as the rest of her, and all the dogs have fallen in love.  She is everyone’s baby, but the others don’t realize Ivy is pulling all the strings!

As much as we love and enjoy Ivy, we’re also very excited about what she brings to us. We’re expecting a lot more flash in our breeding program, and maybe just a bit more spice!
