CH. HOKA-HEY’S TRAIL OF TEARS, ROM

is "Cherokee"...one of our winningest dogs ever!  Entered at only two ACA Specialties, she won as a puppy both times; Best In Sweeps and RWB from the 6-9 month puppy class, and then Winners Bitch from the 9-12 month puppy class, and another Best In Sweeps the next day!  She's a Puppy Group and Best In Match winner, and for her second major, she won Best Of Breed over specials for a well deserved 5 pt. major under distinguished judge and Akita expert, the late Pat Donniere.  Cherokee is the youngest Sealy/Joey daughter, and she is the typiest, chunkiest, most adorable girl on earth!   She's a beautiful coffee-colored brindle who's an angel, a tiger, a loving devoted mom and a comical, loyal friend. She’s also the most incredible producer we’ve ever seen!  Bred in 1998 to our Comanche, she is the mom of one of the most gorgeous and 'correct' Akitas we have ever bred AKC/Can CH. Hoka-Hey's Thunder Over The Ochoco who has been featured multiple times in AKITA WORLD, and made a name for himself around the world. Ochoco is a male version of Cherokee, and it's understandable that a girl as beautiful as she is would have puppies of his quality!

Cherokee was bred in July of 2002 to BIS, BISS Ch. Tuscanadeel’s Texas Brew, AOM.  The babies can all be seen in our Puppy Gallery … their quality speaks for itself!  Again Cherokee unmistakably produced herself in the stunning Ch. Bella.

Our Cherokee has been at the forefront of our most successful combinations – she’s the most awesome producer we’ve ever known. She’s our past and our future, and we love her dearly.  When we count our blessings for having the lovely Cherokee and everything she has given us, we also thank her mom, Sealy, and her mom, Matchi, for making it all possible.  Cherokee means the world to us – she is everything an Akita should be, and the best friend possible.

    Cherokee is OFA Good.

AND LAST… SOME OF CHEROKEE’S BEAUTIFUL KIDS!

Whether tightly linebred or outcrossed, all Cherokee’s puppies have something in common.

My girl Cherokee:

They say that memories are golden,
 and that probably is true,
 but I never wanted memories;
 I only wanted you.
A million times I've needed you,
 a million times I've cried.
If love alone could save you,
 you never would have died.
In life I loved you deeply,
in death I love you still.
In my heart you leave a space
 that nothing will ever fill.
If tears could build a stairway
 and heartache make a lane,
I could walk the path to heaven
 and bring you back again.
 Our family chain’s now broken,
 and nothing seems the same.
but as God calls us one by one,
 the chain will link again.
