This is a huge undertaking – and we have very little time to work on it, so it’s destined to be a perpetual work in progress. It is intended as a complete listing of every dog we’ve owned, whether used in our breeding program or not. The hardest part is choosing just one photo to define our impression of a dog that has been a part of our family and our lives.

It will start with our first Akita, the heroic Shiro – the best introduction anyone could ever have to this noble breed. Shiro was a sick, suffering, abused dog, taken in and nursed to health by AKITA RESCUE OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, particularly Barbara Bouyet, and we were lucky to share our lives with him. He was what every Akita should be, and touched our lives forever.  We hope to join him and all our other friends again some day.

Shiro; our first and our most special.

Ch. O’BJ The Maker’s Rebel Yell; our first show dog

and a wonderful companion.

Ch. O’BJ Great River Match-Maker; Matchi –

our first champion, and the love of my life.

Ch. Brook-Staten’s Koshare of Hoka-Hey; Joey – one of the most wonderful dogs I’ve ever known, and a vital piece of the Hoka-Hey foundation.

Ch. Hoka-Hey Dances With Wolves – Raven was our first champion that we bred ourselves – from our first litter. She was our Joey/Matchi daughter, and everything you could want in an Akita.
