“Lamps” is named after one of
our favorite footballers on our favorite English team – CHELSEA
(“The Blues” - is there any other team!?) He’s out of the very successful
breeding of Ch. Bella to Shawn & Barb Davis’s Ch.MistyMountain’s
RED Your Mind - Redgie. Lamps was born first
of all the puppies – and the only one born outside! Bella was not ready to settle down, and
was sure she had more time to snoot around.
She wasn’t due for about three more days so I confidently went
in to take my shower before work and left her snuffling in the long grass.
When I went out after my shower, I really had a surprise!
Lamps caught our eye from the
beginning, and although we were reluctant to make a decision before 8
weeks, or to get too attached, Lamps was ‘our boy’. He’s
everything we wanted, with a sweet, mild temperament to go with his
stunning appearance. We’ve
never had a silver brindle before and are thrilled to have one now,
especially considering the lovely soul wrapped inside it.
Lamps just gets
better and better as he grows! His
show career started off with a bang with our friend Barb Davis, owner of
Lamps’s daddy; 1st show, 1st win! He continued to win with Barb, and then,
expertly presented and lovingly cared for by Tammie and John Wilcox, he
started to rack up the big points, including a 4 point major at the Akita
Club of Puget Sound Specialty weekend (while Sheva won the bitch
major)! Lamps picked up his second
(and a third!) major at his next shows two weeks later, and easily won his
last point at the beautiful Richland Kennel Club shows the same month to
become Bella’s newest champion! Deserving Bella, deserving Lamps
– our very special boy!
